Minor League Division (Ages 9-11)
Instructional, yet competitive division for player ages 9-11 (EXCEPTION: Players league age 8 are permitted after attending tryouts and if drafted. Players are drafted to teams based on a pre-season tryout. TRYOUTS ARE REQUIRED FOR MINOR LEAGUE DIVISION.
Regular season standings will be kept. The regular season winner will be the WRLL representative in the annual East-West River Bowl game, if held.
Regular season finish will determine seedings for the postseason tournament. The tournament winner will be the WRLL representative in the Minors TOC tournament, if held.
Although winning determines postseason outcomes, it should not be the sole focus of a Manager. Instead, the goal of Minors is to develop players’ talents, further their baseball knowledge and prepare them for the next level. And of course, players should learn to enjoy the game and HAVE FUN!
Rosters may be composed of between 12 and 13 players. The diamond used is a 60-foot diamond and the pitching distance is 46 feet.
Parents are strongly encouraged to become involved in this introduction level of Little League. After completing a Little League volunteer application and passing a required national background check, parents may become involved in practices, and be eligible as coaches, managers, umpires, local league board members and other volunteer positions within the league.
